Overall I would say that lowryder is the best stealth plant ever! a person could grow 20 or more out in the open and them not even noticed.

LowRyder from the joint doctor is a great strain for just about anyone.
i used lowryder outside and pulled 2 and a half crops so far.
but for this grow i put 2 lowryders in a 5 gal bucket and they really took off. lowryder autoflowers all the time it has two or three phenotypes has a mild well balanced stone and gets fairly resonous. it could be more potent but it does a good job as a niche plant.
i would give the bag appeal a 7.5 on a well cured bud of lowryder.
my lowryders were grown in 18 hours of light for 69 days from seeds to bud.
you cant clone lowryder so you must make seeds to carry the strain on ,but you can flower a male in your veg room and store pollen with out pollenating your crop.
pheno #1 small, dark pheno
this pheno is my favorite its imo
the most stoniest, it grows dark and smells fruity.
when you break it up the smell comes out.
the buds also are most dense in this pheno.
with some of the better plants ive raised the high has been very good.
pheno #2the tall light green pheno
this pheno yields ok but has more leafy buds
the taste seems a lil more woody in this pheno.
pheno #3 micro pheno
hmm i always give these away.
one negative about the starin is its easy to stunt or a few micro phenos will show up ,kinda cute lol

I saw these on Doc Chronic's webiste and I just had to try them.
5 of 5 germed, although one of the plants had some whorled phyllotaxy and never really got going right. Two of the plants had individual pots, and three were grown in a window planter. The main lighting was a 70 watt HPS, and there was also about 40 watts of compact fluorescents.
They grew to about 12" and stopped. It was really interesting. I grew them under 24/0 and they began showing flowers around week 3. The buds gradually got larger, and packed on mass at an even rate until about week 7. I chopped at the beginning of week 8 (from seed) after inspecting the trichomes and finding all cloudly with some amber.
This round was strictly for producing seed, so I kept the best male and only female. I collected pollen in a film canister and dropped it onto the female with a Q-tip. I got about 125 seeds. I also got somewhere between 10 and 14 grams of bud; however, I don't know the exact amount because I don't keep a scale.
The smoke wasn't terribly potent, but I found the high to be quite enjoyable. It had some body effects, but the highlight was the trippy, dreamy state it induced. I had to smoke a little more than other strains to get there, but smoking is fun and it was well worth the (cough) effort.
I enjoyed the experience of growing Lowryder. Don't go in expecting ultra-danky nugs and you won't be dissapointed. I feel that Lowryder would probably maximize the result for people forced to grow in extremely small spaces. It has advantages, like not needing seperate veg and flower areas. It also has disadvantages, like having to go from seed everytime. I probably will be giving my seeds to friends with less space than I have and concentrating on other plants. I don't feel dissapointed, it was something really unique. However, now that I have seen it, well... unless I get stuck growing in a computer case or something, Lowryder won't be in my rotation.

I was taken by the initial hype so I acquired 120 seeds from 3 sources all originating from the joint doctor. The only things I like about this strain is that it was consistent in stature and bud structure and that there was 100% autoflowering. Other than that I was disappointed, it was low potency and has a huge mold susceptibility. Some had a pleasant fruity aroma but most were dry like a typical rudy. We made hash from it which I did not really like the taste of it nor did it get me high. I think we'll see some better results from Lowryder hybrids.
Things I like about Lowryder, consistent autoflowering that is easily passed on into hybrids, I liked the looks of the tight nug pheno and the aroma of the fruity pheno was alright, good stealth plant, looks frosty though it is basically fool's silver, easy enough to grow..
Things I didn't like, big mold susceptibility, very low potency borderline hemp, the airy pheno, the dry pheno.

June, 2004 |
Grown outdoors/greenhouse June 2004 south UK. No supplemental lighting. Plants can be started at almost any time of year and will be ready to harvest from 60 days after. Some do seem to take longer than others but you can expect more uniformity in finishing times when grown indoors. Of course an outdoor date is pointless as you could feasibly grow many harvests every year of Lowryder.
Germination was totally normal, but as soon as the seedlings pop the surface, you can tell they are miniature marijuana plants.
Indeed (as it says on the tin) they start to flower almost immediately, they are incredibly easy to grow (hence the ease rating of 10) but when harvested, they yield very little (yield rating 1) but this is no bad thing because MANY plants can be grown in a very small space and so an intelligent grower could probably yield more bud per sq ft using Lowryder than they could using a regular strain. (seed quantity permitting) They yield approximately a quarter oz per plant but with the correct ferts, higher wattage lights etc, you could increase this.
The appearance is also very pleasing! Seeing a group of very small flowering marijuana plants brings great gasps of "ooohs" and "aaahs" from friendly onlookers. The small size also makes it very easy to trim.
The smoke although not overly potent was still of acceptable quality...it does smell very nice also whilst being burnt.
I will continue to grow lowryder and to make Lowryder crosses (crosses tend to be larger and yield more and of better smoke quality depending on the other parent used) I can recommend Lowryder to anyone who either doesn't have much room, wants to grow a lot in a small space or anyone who wants to make an autoflowering cross!

I grew these babies out this summer and have to say, they were very easy to grow. I germed five of them and had three resulting females in the following phenotypes: average indica (squat with broad leaves), a mutant (undescribable leaf pattern/shape/size) and a sativa/indica hybrid. I mixed up the germination process for a few and all worked in the same time period (showed 1" tap roots within 36hrs); heated germination dome, paper towel and direct planting into soil.
Autoflowering plants are not for everyone but do offer something for those in need of medical marijuana in a short time period and/or those who do not have a large grow space.
Since you do not know whether a plant will autoflower or not before flowering, you treat it just like a normal MJ plant. I used about 200W of tubular and compact fluoros for "vegging." All three showed pre-flowers by the third node (week three) and were transferred into the flowering room; consisting of 400W HPS. They flowered for another 5 weeks and were cut between days 59-63 (total time, not flower time).
Total yield was about 1oz of cured bud. Obviously, this is not a very "efficient" plant, but optimal yield is not reason to choose this strain, now is it?
Overall, it was an average grow with great results. I was impressed.

I grow in a 4'4 closet, aerated with 2 big box fans and 2 oscillating fans to cool lights. Veg - I use random fluoros, a few compacts, a few tubes to mix up the spectrum. For flowering, I use a 400W HPS from MDHydro. Only the best organic mixes for soil; Heavy and light potting mix, perlite, seabird guano, worm casting, the good stuff. I also use "mylar" to help reflect some of the light back to the plants (I use emergency blankets from WalMmart, they are about $20 cheaper and get the job done).

Well I grew out two pure Lowryders, both seemed to be of the small pheno group, the taller one was no more then 9 inches tall, and the other was about 6 inches tall. I also had one LR/Master Kush x LR that was also very small, about 5 inches tall.
All three plants had decent amount of triches, the LR/MK x LR had noticeably more then the pure LRs. All plants branched out rather then one main cola. Plants finished at 46 days from sprouting, so they do grow very fast.
I liked the plants, they looked nice, and the mannicured buds looked very tasty. After drying and curing the buds they proved to be a decent smoke, not the best that I have grown/smoked, but not the worst either. The high seemed to be primarly a head high.
Overall the yield was slightly lower then I had thought I would have had. I used CFs for the entire grow I had 344 true watts, 8 bulbs at 2700 (x6) & 2900 (x2) lumens a piece. The dry weight of all three plants was no more then 5 grams, actually it was about 4.5 when I weighed them out. I used a very little amount of plant food as they were grown mostly natural.
I think the strain will only get better in the future, yet I still think it needs more work at this time. 12/2004

This variety is a lot of fun to grow. I started with 10 seeds and had 9/10 germinate. Seven survived to grow into 5 females and 2 males. The males started showing preflowers at day 17 and the females were evident by 21 days from seed. I had some dificulties with waterlogged soil and cool temps at the start. Growth was rather slow at first but always vigorous. At 4 weeks pollenation was starting to happen. I selected one male as the best and let those babys breed.
Having a healthy supply of seed to grow Lowryder is a must. The plants did not grow any taller after about week 4. Heights ranged from 3-10 inches. Flowering came full on quickly and my females divided into two phenos. One was the tallest with longer internodes and well spaced bud clusters. The other 4 females were shorter with very short internodes and the entire stem covered in developing buds with a few leaves poking out between. By 50 days the buds had swollen nicely and the entire buds and many of the leaves were glazed with a nice co ering of trichomes. A beautiful but not overpowering fruity odour came from the plants.
The seeds matured nicely in the last two weeks and by 63 days brown seeds were seen peeking out of swollen calyxes. Fan leaves were lightening and turning yellowish. Trichomes were abundant and milky. I harvested and after manicuring and drying, I ended up with 36 grams of nice bud. An average of 1/4 oz. per plant. I think my yeilds will get better with the next crop and for the size the plants were I am very happy.
I really enjoy smoking Lowryder. The high has a nice up effect that is quite easy to enjoy during the day, despite being an indica dominant strain. It comes on just as quickly as any other strain I smoke. I also smoke NL # 5 at the moment, and Lowryder is just as good in it own right, I think. As far as Lowryder being a bunkweed strain, forget it. With all the autoflowering and size advantages Lowryder is a plant I will continue to grow and breed over and over.

This strain was extremely easy to grow out. It was my first run in my cabinet.
I germed all 10 seeds, all 10 popped. In the end I ended up with five males/five females.
They all showed sex at 18 days. All grown out under 24 hours of light.
I threw out three of the males and kept two for pollen collection.
Of the females I had three that grew out as single cola dominant plants and two that grew out to be around 7 inches tall.
They were all very easy to grow. No special requirements at all.
I pollenated some lower portions of all three single cola dom females.
They went for a total of 63 days from seed to harvest. I will be running some of these outdoors this year for sure.
The plants ended up giving me a ton of seed, so look out for an outdoor report at the end of the 2005 season.

Overall I was very pleased with this plant. It was a great plant to learn from, and showed no other deficiencies other than Mg after flowering and slight K in late flowering.
I started with seven beans - 100% germination and 5/7 females. Great ratio from the doc!
Things went well pretty much the whole time - I switched from a 95w envirolight to 150w hps about 20 days into flowering, which really made a big difference. I was able to get the tops of the plants within 4 inches of the bulb with no negative effects.
I tried FIMing one of the plants, and it worked fairly well. The trimmed plant still in the soil (pic to left) is the FIMmed female. She is drying, and I will come back with a final weight report once everything is dried and cured.
Smoke is very dankish and earthy, perhaps because I fertilized with Neptune's Organic Fish Fertilizer (2-4-1) throughout. Seemed to work well except next time I will use a kelp solution in conjunction with that since K was at a shortage.

I didn't know what to expect coming into this grow, I was sceptical about an auto flowering midget, but I have to say that I'm impressed now. I got a pack of Joint Doctors Lowryder and germinated three of them. All three sprouted within three days, and were placed into starter plugs and put under a humidity dome with 70 watts of compact flouro over them.
Within a week they were rooted in the plugs and showed there first set of true leaves. After that, they were placed into net cups and into a 10-gallon hydro bubbler and High Grades 3-part GH nute recipe under a 150 watt HPS. Growth was fast and immediate! Within the first two weeks in the bubbler I could tell the sex, only one female but that ok for me.
That one female grew up to over 1 1/2 feet by the time it was starting to show buds. By the end it had massive buds and was at just about 2 1/2 feet! I changed the hydro water twice and flushed it with plain water for the last week of growth. Easiest grow I've ever had, very quickly, no problems at all. Dried weight of trimmed bud was 2.3 ounces from that one plant! The taste is very unique; I've never tried anything like it before. All my friends loved it and can't wait to I grow it again.

I started with 20 seeds of joint doctors Lowryder, purchased from Drchronic....and got 20/20 germination and they were planted outside in pots on april 17....on april 21 i saw the first sprouts and within the next few days i was left with 17 seedlings....out of those 17 seedlings i was left with 5 females and 12 males, all of varied phenotypes.....3 of the females were harvested at cloudy trichomes at about 65 days, and 2 more were left and harvested at 50/50 cloudy/amber trichomes at 75-80 days.....all in all with the crummy male/female ratio and the not so great yield, i would probebly not grow lowryder again, but all in all lowryder is a great strain and very easy to grow, its really enjoyable smoke and i love the high it gives.

Impressed. I grew 2 females in nft system, they were fed Canna Aqua Vega for 5 weeks(half strength E.C), Canna Aqua Flores+pk13-14 for 1 week(half strength E.C). Then they were flushed for 2 weeks with water. One plant grew 2 foot high, the other 2 ft 6 in . The small plant yielded 31g, the big one 43g. I was a bit sceptical about this plant that is why I only grew 2 of them. The stone is absolutely fine, I was in Amsterdam last week smoking the best skunk in the world, and I am a heavy smoker 2-2 1/2 oz/week, I think I can tell the difference beetween good weed and bad, and Lowryders stone is (I find) better than people have rated so far.
!! Thumbs Up To This One !!
