Breeder's Description - 'Blue Haze'
|
A unique cross between the homegrown Haze and the Blueberry, with a classy sweet musky taste with a strong stone.
The growing characteristics are of the body of the Indica, with the length of the Sativa. An easy plant with a strong touch of Sativa.

Started out with 2 packs of Blue Haze (DP's Blueberry x HGF's Original Haze) from HomeGrown Fantaseeds. Out of those 20 I germed 12/12 and ended up with 6 females.
Growth --
VEG) BH grows very much like Blueberry (indica) but has slightly longer internodal length & is more columar in strutcure with very few side branches (topping is reccommended to increase yield). All plants looked fairly similar in veg & displayed medium vigor, not much smell unless rubbed then you get a faint sweet musky scent.
BLOOM) A few weeks after flowering was initiated 2 different phenos were apparent.
#1: This one kept the Blueberry profile. It stayed rather short with minimal stretch and flowers didn't get massive in size (buds only tend to form 6-8" down from the tops). Average yield and flower to leaf ratio but grows very dense & buds are completely covered in snowy white trichomes (great trichome production). Swollen calyxes often turn a deep redish purple color near the end of the flowering cycle which averages 7-8wks for this pheno. Virtually no smell unless you stick your nose in the flowers, then its filled with a sweet blueberry aroma with definite musky undertones.
#2: This pheno seemed to have more Haze traits when flowered. The plants nearly doubled their size during flowering which averaged 8-9wks. Medium+ internodal length, produced bigger, thicker flowers with better calyx-to-leaf ratio compared to #1. Smell was much sweeter, more of a deep penetrating blueberry scent. #2 also was hairier & had less visible trichome production than#1 but was still very crystally.
Smoke Report --
Appearance:
#1) Buds are short-n-stubby, very thick (somewhat leafy), densely covered with whitish colored trichomes & have purple colored tips. Very few hairs are visible; most have receded into the fat swollen calyxes.
#2) Nugs are longer and bigger (no leaf), more rounded in shape than #1, many hairs are visible on the swollen calyxes which aren't colored on the tips. Not nearly as frosty; the resin glands are bigger & darker colored as opposed to the white look of #1.
Smell:
#1) Sweet blueberry aroma with a touch of muskiness.
#2) Rich, deep sweeter blueberry smell without the musk.
Taste:
#1) Taste is musky, earthy with a slight sweet berry aftertaste, flavor lasts throughout the bowl.
#2) Initial taste is kinda earthy, then trancends to a deep sweet blueberry aftertaste.
Effect:
#1) Effects takes a minute to come on after the 1st few puffs, the high is powerful, mostly cerebral with little body. Doesn't last too long but its great overall social feel good smoke.
#2) Opposed to #1 you feel the warm cerebral rush quickly after inhaling. The high is immediate (makes you sweat at the brow), powerful/intense, visual, somewhat foggy but still very cerebral in nature. The stone lasts considerably longer than #1.
Overall I'd give Blue Haze a 7.5-8 rating.
It's easy to grow, doesn't yield as much as most would like but still produces colorful, potent heady flowers.

This is a really grower friendly plant, quite easy to grow, and low maintenance. It has a big calyx to leaf ratio, I'm actually ... continued
