Just finished harvesting some of the “Nevilles Haze” from Greenhouse Seed Co and here is the update and grow report. The location for the grow was tropical Australia just north of Cairns. “Nevilles Haze” seed from Greenhouse was purchased from SeedsDirect in unopened Greenhouse seed packets, 13 beans in total. 10 out of 13 seeds germinated in mid of May in tissue paper and were transplanted into grow tubes in a 50/50 sterilised peat/sand mix. 3 seedlings died through neglect. Leaving a total of 7 healthy plants. During the 6 weeks of vegging the plants reached a height of around 5 feet. I was quite impressed at the plant vigour during this period never had a plant reach such a large size in such a short period.

At 5 feet the plants were taken outside to flower in the tropical winter sunlight. In about 10 days all plants were beginning to flower. From the 7 plants taken outside after sexing we had a great ratio 5 females and 2 males. The 5 females were then transplanted into the soil which was a red volcanic kraznosome. The 2 males were transferred to a new location away from the girls to hang out with some G13 x Hashplant males. All plants had been mainly fed with Dynamic Lifter and Osmocote slow release 9 months and where mulched with decomposed compost. During flowering though the only nutrients used were pot ash for the flowering phase.

During flowering the females had heaps of stretch I mean they more then doubled their height to 12 feet (1.5 x the original vegging height).

The bud is extremely sticky and has a very strong smell of pine or pine cones. It’s a very beautiful strong smell. This shot show a gum leaf stuck to the sticky bud. There is a cockroach on the bud as well it’s not its either odeed or extremely stoned it eventually died. The plants were very easy to grow under tropical conditions and were very disease and stress resistant.

I wasn’t expecting the yield to be so good as what we got and I was very impressed with the outcome. The total grow time from veg to flowering to harvest was 4 months and 2 weeks (1 month veg and 3.5 months flowering (110 days in tropical winter sunlight). The average yield for the 5 plants was 660 g (or 1 lb and 6 oz) dry. Now the first test of the bud was from a split branch that had so much heavy bud on it the branches broke under the strain. We rolled a really skinny spliff about the size of skinny pencil. The taste of the smoke was beautiful. The best I have ever tasted. Very mild and smooth like pine, even tasted like you were not even smoking anything at all. Had just a third of a joint and MMMMMMM Waaaayyy tooo much. The stone was very deceptive. At first I didn’t think I was stoned at all. Its one of those creepers. Except it kept on creeping getting stronger and stronger becoming really intense and very trippy and hallucinogenic. Definitely the strongest sativa stone I have ever experienced. It’s has a really up high gave us one of those laughing attacks combined with a real trippiness to it. I’m sure this stuff has LSD in the genes somewhere. Its definitely not for the inexperienced smoker. In my experience it must be close to being one of the best sativa varieties out there!

On the down side if anyone grows this plant, it would be better to tie up the branches as they get too heavy with bud and can’t cope with the weight under windy wet conditions. Also if it is being grown inside and space is a consideration you will have to start flowering extra early to cope with the excessive stretch during flowering. A good rule of thumb is that the flowering stage will produce about 1.5 x the vegging height.

Ok, finally even though the flowering period is very long 3.5 months the vegging period for these large plants was not (1 month). In my view, for the quality of the plant (yeild and bud) 4.5 months for 12 foot plants with an average yield of 660 g is not long at all!

Finally if you want the best of the best “Nevilles Haze” is highly recommended for yield and potency 5 out of 5 Stars ***** (if grown properly). Believe me this stuff will take you higher then the stars its pure rocket fuel.

Peace to all Ozbud

The vegging phase was for 1 month under a combination of 1000 HPS lights during the night and tropical winter sun during the day. The vegging phase was extremely vigorous for all plants which were very uniform under the 24 hr light combination of the 1000 HPS lights and tropical winter sun. At 5 feet the plants were taken outside to flower in the tropical winter sunlight.
