Breeder's Description - 'Golden Skush'
|
Skunk meets Hindu Kush. These two well established strains have come together to produce skush. A great yield combing the ease, yield and quality of the skunk with the best of the Hindu Kush. A classic cross, totally superb!

I put 4 beans in towels, all germinated, but 1 did not sprout when I put it in soil. All 3 left were females.
As they were planted outdoors I can't say the flowering time, but from seed to harvest it took 3 months. The comments on high, taste and smell won't be very precise, because the buds are not well cured yet.
Basically I got 2 phenos, I call it the Skunk and Fruit phenos. Both grew light green leaves, with some good resin production on the buds, but little on trim leaves. The leaves are somewhat thin, resembles to the Sativa side, but the plant has an Indica shape when growing, with tight buds.
The high was pretty uniform on both phenos. Slightly more on the head than body, but no couch lock. It?s a pleasant high that lasts for like an hour. Great for sharing with friends, leads to many laughs, I liked this weed. After the first hour or so the high lows but you still fell very good and warm, but still active, and ready for another joint.
I believe that it could get even better if vegged a little longer, the yield would also very good. I recommend this strain.

Golden skush (POG) is a very easy plant to grow, very good beginner plant. short compact, heavy dense buds, trichomes clear out to the fans. These plants produced very heavy resin.
Seen two different phenos (4 plants) Ed green, shorter/stockier plant, and a dark glossy leaf, a bit taller plant. Both plants were trained and extensively pruned so pics are not typical of the growth pattern.
Med. green: heavy bush, lots of branches, very squat. loads of resin. Sweet fruity after a week of hang dry, fruity/hashy after a week in the jar. Even stone, little more to the head than body. Doesn?t smack ya down. Good all day smoke. Grew to 18 inches tall, harvest at 56 days, 22 grams dried.
Dark glossy: only had one out of the four plants grown, deep dark green glossy leaf, Indica dom. Grew a few inches taller than the med. green pheno, had the same heavy resins, but the smell and taste definitely had more Skunk to it. Slight fruit smell, heavy skunkyness. Lot more to the head, you can feel it in your legs, but toke a bit too much and jaw lock is immediate. Of course I favored this pheno. Grew to 22 inches tall, harvest at 61 days, 31 grams dry.
Great all around smoke, nice taste and smell. Most all who have tried it describe it as skunky sweet, go figure.

This was my second grow, and so I found this strain to be very flexible and tolerant to a novice like me. There were no signs of hermies and out of six seeds planted four were female.
The plants were grown using BOG'S Bonanza of green method under a 400w MH light. They were vegged until sexed then put to flower. Resin production was good on all of them.
I would definetly recommend this strain to a new grower, although more experienced growers out there would probably also be suprised with the resulting buds.

The best strain I've had the opportunity to grow so far.
I started 2 seeds and both had root tip in 24hrs. Also seedlings were very healthy and nice looking, they were in a 24/0 light schedule since then. I use dixie cups for the seedlings for the 2 first weeks of life.
Veg stage started at the 2nd week of 24/0 and switched to 18/6, also transplanted into 1 gal pots untill they showed sex. Meanwhile I didn't have to do anything but water and pay attention to the plant; she was growing like magic, seriously, even better than my four Widows and my two K2 (Nirvana), during the veg stage. Once I noticed that she was doing very well I started feeding with Fox Farm Grow Big every weekend with no problems. I did follow the Fox Farm "Guide to success" chart and I was amazed at the result. Also I was suplementing additives (mycor agent, growth and bloom stimulators) and they were loving it! Both plants showed sex early in 18/6 just as I was hoping. I gave one lady to a good friend so he can perpetuate the strain, also both plants were growing very similar. I only got to grow one, it was a indica/sativa mix of an average size, not too tall, not too small and it did bush out nicely; lots of leaves and on the veg stage she definitely likes to branch out a lot. Flowering stage started a month and a half after vegging.
In the flowering stage I was suplementing Fox Farm Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom together with amazing results. I transplanted then into a 6 gal pots. Smell increased quite a bit. She didn't got as tall T thought she would... She did stretch but at a normal rate and I'm glad she did stretched 'cause that gave space for the big buds! Preflowers were all over way before 12/12 started, so by the 2nd week of flowering I saw the enormous potential of this beauty. Buds where getting fatter and fatter every week and by the 5th week of flowering I proceeded to administrate the fabolous PK 13-14 from CANNA and damn everything about that thing it's true. The stems started to bend over from the weight of the buds at the 1st week of the PK-13-14. Pistils were ready way before the trichs so I waited a week more to give more amber trichs. Smell in flowering was the same as the "papaya" fruit mixed with some skunky. Smell very well camouflaged by the papaya smell in the same plant.

This plant was a breeze to grow. I started off with 10 seeds in paper towels. All popped within 48 hours. Out of those I got six fems. to play with.
I let them veg for about 2 weeks under flouros till they were around 12 inches. I used Pure Blend Pro Veg, Silica Blast, Liquid Karma, and of course some SuperThrive. I pruned them to be pole plants since that's what they seemed to want to be. This plant loves to eat, They just ate up the nutes. During veg I kept the ppms around 1000.
When it came to flower I had 4 strong plants and two runts (I managed to pull at least an ounce out of the runts). When I threw them into the flower room they just took off. No shock from the HPS. I kept upping the ppms throughout the flower cycle. I used Pure Blend Pro Flower, with Silica Blast, Liquid Karma, Superthrive, and on the 5th week I hit it with Pure Blend Pro Flower Soil. Before the flush, the ppms were up to 1800-1900. Just lovely. They all came out great. Large colas Except the runts. They got to be as round as soda cans. Some almost as long as 2 feet.
The buds on there were tight and compact going up the stem. Not a bit of mold at all. The smell wasn't too strong at all during the grow, but light up a fatty of that stuff and you better make sure nobody is down wind. The taste is very hashy on the intake, but exhaling you can taste the skunky fruitiness. The high is immediate and intense right to the dome and then it works its way down your body till the time comes where you raid the kitchen and just destroy it leaving behind carnage.
I would give this strain a shot especially if I was a noob. Easy to grow, respectable yields, very sturdy and low odor.
I don't have a scale since it's of no use to me (I don't sell), so I'm not sure how much I pulled from the harvest, but if I were to estimate I would say around 7-8 ounces.

Started outside from day 1, brought inside and placed under a 400watt HPS at day 55. Only stretched about a foot in flower. Grew tight dense buds on top. Golden Skush is a forgiving strain, that loves to be fed. I was able to apply a heavy feeding schedule onto the Golden Skush’s without any bad effects.
Taste: The taste is a hard one. Has a very nice pleasant taste. Extremely fruity/piney aftertaste.
Smell: Wow, this is where the Golden Skush takes all my points. The smell is incredible. Only thing that will hold back the smell is a glass jar. DO not expect to carry this around in a plastic bag and have no one know you have it. The smell reminds you of nothing on this world, just extremely strong, but yet smooth and pleasant. The reactions of friends smelling this stuff is priceless.
High: Couchlock high, this will make you relaxed after only a few hits. This weed hits your senses on the first hit and becomes a slight buzz, you continue smoking it thinking not much besides this buzz will happen. You arrive at the 10 minute mark and your eyes get almost closed and your body goes limp. Great for just wanting to relax and listen to music. Also the high will have you cleaning your kitchen out within minutes, coco puffs seem to best fix this.

Out of 10 seeds I only got 8 to germ and out of those 8, I had 3 females. I cloned the best one and use it as a mother plant. The pheno I keep strongly resembles Skunk#1 but you can tell it has a little kush in it. They start out at a slow growth rate but really make up for it later.
Skush is just loaded with trichomes, even on the bigger fan leaves. It finished in about 60 days with cloudy trichomes. Everyone who has smoked it really liked it alot and always has something to say about the taste and smell. If your lookin for a good creeper, This aint it. It hits you almost right away and mostly to the head. After an hour the high really mellows out though. I would recommend this strain to any grower, all around good weed.
