This was my first run with the Pot of Gold and I liked it very much.
I started 3 seeds and got 2 females and 1 male, all 3 seeds germed within 12 hours of being in the damp paper towels.
The pog grew fairly vigorously, and was tolerant of ferts. I grew it in a DWC setup under 1000w lights. It was vegged to about 18 inches and topped several times. The buds were nice and tight and fairly easy to manicure, and one of the best things about them is even the small buds that got very little light were nice little golf balls. Absolutely no scraggly little scrufle bud, and the resin on this plant is amazing, just tons of sticky resin. I will definitely be growing the rest of those seeds to see if perhaps this strain has a mother even better than the one I have selected. The yield was around 4 oz per plant on plants that finished around 3 ft. and were very bushy. I do think I will try this strain untopped next time as I have a feeling it will do better as a natural growth pattern plant.

I started with 4 seeds, all cracked within 48 hours, fast germ rate, the seedlings grew pretty fast too.
In veg I had no problems at all with feeding and training, quite bendy/flexible stems, because of my low grow height I topped them twice at the third node, so they had 4 main stems and another 4 main branches from the 1st and 2nd nodes, a couple of branches i got rid of later so 1 had 8 stems, the other 3 had 6-7.
These plants can take a lot of feed, it just sucks it all up, i fed at full strength through most of veg, and they showed no signs of burn what soever.
Once i triggered them they showed sex pretty quickly, in around 7 days, 1 turned out to be male, 3 were female.
At first they all looked the same, but there were variations showing later on in flower, 1 was quite tall with the nodes consistently in line with each other all the way up each stem instead of being staggered like the other 2, they were shorter but with a lot more bud and pistils on them.
One of the plants smelled sweet, the other very skunky, and the third was both, and also oozing with trichs, a lot more than the other 2, and this is the one which I'm sure The Flying Dutchman intended to be THE P.O.G, so there are slight pheno's in this strain.
When in flower I continued to feed full strength nutes after a week flush from veg, and they handled it well, only showing a slight bit of burn at around day 25, then at day 36 I flushed for a week before adding the PK 13-14 booster at day 44 and flushing the rest of the way.
These plants don't stretch much apart from the 2nd pheno, they stay quite short, but I put aveage size on the description because of the pheno, but they do stink quite a bit, it's not bad until around 40 days then they start to catch your nose a bit when you walk in the room.
all 3 got chopped together at 68 days, and they could have gone longer too, but I wanted some bud for Xmas, so i hacked them, hung them up for 12 days, then chopped off all the bud and cured for a further 10 days and they were just right.
The high wasn't what I was expecting, it is strong, but not in an overpowering way.
At first you get a body buzz, nice all round, pleasant, not so much as a couchlock stone, it's quite mellow and spacey, but strong if you get me, lasts for a couple of hours, then you snap out of a daydream, good for social occasions aswell I found, quite happy weed, with this stuff, I found that some people liked to interact after smoking, and some just wanted to sit in a corner and drift away.

POG has been a strain that I have wanted to try for quite some time. I started out with 11 seeds, had a bad germ rate and only 7 made it. Five were male and 2 were female.
Both plants did well in veg with one being a little more branchy than the other but both still looking pretty similar in apearence. They both grew well with no problems at all, once transplanted at 12' they really took off in their new pots.
I veged untill they were about 24' tall and then fliped them to 12/12. For the first couple of weeks they exploded in outward and upward growth and just about doubled in size.
Pheno A: Once flowering started it was evident this was going to be the faster flowering pheno, it had flowers starting to grow lots of white hairs at about two weeks. After it really started flowering I was really impressed with the general structure of the plant it was very branchy with a couple of branches rivaling the main cola for size and height. Resin started after 2 1/2 weeks and fully coated the buds. The smell of the flowers was a skunky sweet and improved in complexity late in flowering. The buds were super solid and didn't shrink a bit once dried. It flowered for 8 weeks and I yielded 5oz off of this plant.
Pheno B: This pheno took a little longer to start flowering and seemed to be about a week or so behind pheno A. Once flowering started the plant stayed very sturdy and didn't need any suport at all. The flowers had a ton of white hairs with resin that was much sweeter than the other pheno. It's smell was more of sweet mint bubblegum is the only way to descibe it. Really quite a unique and enjoyable smell. This pheno was longer flowering and went 10 weeks. I harvested 4 1/2 oz.
Smoke: Pheno A: Was the skunky sweet pheno, on a potency scale I would give if a 6 1/2, not the most potent ever but had a nice kick that wasn't to couchy. Mild but there taste, that was sweet but not pungent. Pheno B: The sweet mint bubblegum smell really stuck once it was dried, and came through as a pungent smell and more intense taste that was more complex then pheno A. Its effect was also superior to A, on a potency scale I would give it a solid 7. The effect was couchy but still workable, not a sleeper.
Both plants met the discription of TFD to a T, and were totally worth evey bit of effort to grow them. One of the best strains I have grown.
