This is an upgraded strain of our valued former Afghan/Skunk. We improved the variety in 1997. The taste is softer than before and we managed to improve on yield. The Afghani (Mazar-i-Shariff) part is a very short Christmas tree-like plant, 100% Indica and very resinous. The F1-cross with Skunk #1 gives the variety a bigger yield and better taste. Very good "up" high. As both parents are very consistent, the offspring are very consistent too.

I started out with 20 feminised seeds, from those i chose the best 6 plants to continue working with... ALL of them were pretty varied in growth (it is an indica/sativa mix, Mazar-e-sharrif X Skunk #1) so this was expected.
From the 6 chosen plants 3 were very indica-ish & had a major hash & Skunk taste & smell... (that's not what I was looking for in this cross, so those plants were culled after the first round).
The next 3 plants were classic indica/sativa hybrids... Longer in the nodes & a mix of indo/sat in the leaf shape & structure.
From these one was bubblegummy in smell & taste & grew with 6-8" spacing in all the nodes (plant discarded for being to tall & lanky & having the wrong taste & smell).
The next plant was more to the sativa in growth but had the most amazing true indica bud formation (so tight & dense that mold could have been a issue if your not on top of things) but this plant had a slight skunkyness to it also & was discarded for being slower to flower (always took 63 + days to finnish).
Now this last plant I'm most pleased with... It has the classic indica/sativa growth habits & grows nugs with a nice tight semi-spear shape. It has a uinque funky smell & tastes just like a Tart-Fruit Medicine (very kind !), always finnishes in 55-60 days and is just about as frosty & potent as pot can get (barring a true Haze). A true winner in all respects!
So in conclusion, you'll see that there is a lot of variation amongst the plants in both finnishing times & taste & smells. Not a very tamed hybrid (which is a good thing) as this will let you choose a plant that suits your needs in height & high & taste.
Just remember that its a indo/sat hybrid SO chose the traits you need most.

I grow these under 800 watts of HPS & MH mixed & also in a grow box using 509 watts of fluros. ALL grows are hydro & fed Pure Blend Pro or Fox Farm's Growbig & Big Bloom .
ALL systems use Hydrostone as the growing medium.
ALL systems are fed 3 times a day for 1 hour duration using 6 GPH drip emiters.
