Breeder's Description - 'Sweet Tooth #3'
|
Sweet Tooth #3 (fourth generation, 3rd Backcross to Sweet Pink Grapefruit mother). This Sweet Tooth is the result of one backcross line wherein the goal in searching the father was an emphasis on the taxonomy and aroma of the original SPG mother. The Grapefruit is a true favourite among growers and consumers. It is possibly the most cultivated strain among commercial producers in Vancouver. The preceding BX2 seed that the father was selected from produced quite homogenous grapefruit-like plants, this generation should be suitable for crossing. The plant is high yielding for a Sweet Tooth yet r ...continued

Veg:
I germed all 10 seeds and all 10 popped. I got 6 females and killed 2 of the weaker plants. All the plants I grew out where the same pheno. Seemed like they where all grapefruit dom.
It grows very strong during the veg. phase. For a nice size bush I veg them about 7 weeks (49 days). They look very lush and vigorous during veg. stage.
Bloom:
The yield on a 4 foot plant is between 3-4 ounces (No CO2). Its slow to show signs of bud initially in bloom stage. Colas will develop very thick and dense. If humidity is an issue be careful with this strain. I had mold problems every time I grew it (Breeder Steve says newer versions like ST#4 and 5 are much better with mold problems). The trichome production on the plant is above average. The stature of the phenotype I had appeared more indica then sativa, but still was above average on height.
Smoke Report:
It makes some pretty decent bubble hash. The nug size is very decieving. They weight much more then they appear to. The smoke is above average. Smooth taste not by any means overwhelming. High is sufficient, but does seem to last awhile. More of a body high then a head high with my phenotype.
Overall Assessment:
The ST#3 has a great yield. It also grows very vigorous. Breeder Steve (Spice of Life) has some fine genetics in this plant. The mold was a serious problem for me. Make sure you have excellent venting. The ST#3 has a very smooth almost fruity/creamy/musk smell and taste. The high was also very smooth, mostly body stone. Overall a very good strain.

SWT# 3 germinated 10/10 with 50% females. All specimens exhibited equal growth, displaying short, stout main stems.
Vegged for approx. 30 days using hydroponic Ebb/Flow system using GH nutes 3,2,1 @ 300-500 ppm feed for 10 minutes every 4 hours. PH 5.5-6 / Temps 80 F / RH 70%
Clones taken @ 30 days rooted in approx. 5-7 days using plain tap water.
Females labelled and transferred to 5 gallon black DWC with individual air pump/stones. Initial feeding formula 2,2,3 @ 700-900. PH stabilized @ 6.0 / Temps 75-80 F / RH 50%
Females explode into rapid growth from 2-3 wks flowering easily doubling in size.
Pheno 1
Early finisher w/ tight braided swollen calyxes that finished @ 46 days 12/12. Total plant dried bud yield = 70 grams.
Pheno 2
Finishes around 54-56 days 12/12 w/ less dense hairy bud structure. Heavier yielder that will mold in less than favorable conditions.
An exceptional smooth smoke that burns clean from start to finish. Excellent potency that is very sedative, couchy when finishing later, otherwise excellent productive social buzz ideal for day time creative activities.

Started out with 10 seeds of Sweettooth#3 from Spice Of Life seeds. Had 10/12 germ rate from those and ended up with 4 females.
Growth --
VEG) After a few weeks of growth it was obvious that this strain was very stable; all plants looked almost identical. Very easy to grow, displayed average vigor, growth was fairly short & stocky (columar structure, few side branches), with short internodes. Preflowers were evident on all well before flowering, in fact 2/4 females had borderline autoflowering traits. Smell is not too apparent unless the plants are rubbed. Then you get a strong sweet, sour-citrusy aroma.
BLOOM) SWT3 explodes with flowers once blooming is initiated. Doesn't stretch much but still forms big thick, heavy buds (medium calyx to leaf ratio) with nice trichome production. Flowers get so thick-n-dense that they are easily susceptible to mold during the last weeks of flowering. The flowering period averages 7-8 weeks. The smell is extremely pleasureable, sweet-n-candied grapefruit aroma.
Smoke Report --
Appearance: Buds are large & very dense, light green colored with a decent coating of resin glands & few pinkish red hairs. Calyxes are fat & swollen, have a hint of blueish red hues at the base.
Smell: Buds smell like pink-grapefruit cotton candy, very sweet with just a hint of berry undertone.
Taste: Like smoking a bowl of grapefruit pink lemonade with lots of sugar. Unfortunately because the buds (calyxes) are so dense the flavor tends to fade quite quickly, only the 1st few puffs are really sweet.
Effect: Not impressed at all with the light high (mostly heady with little body) of the SWT3, seemed to develop a tolerance quickly too, so my problem is I smoke a few bowls for the sweet delicious flavor then have to smoke a bowl of something else to get a decent buzz.
Overall I'd give SWT3 a 6.5-7 rating. It's a great strain for newbies as its very easy to grow, produces big thick weighty buds & smells/tastes very sweet-n-fruity. Hardcore smokers might have a problem with the less than stellar high tho.

The Sweet Tooth #3. What a bouquet. The smell and the taste are top notch. The yield is good. The nugs are big and very dense. Is like go and smoke a green good-smelling rock. When you cut it in two -with a scissor of course- the pungent extremely sweet taste shines. So at that point before smoking it all people with you are happy and just fun. The smoke is tasteful from the first toke to the end. This weed is potent. Despite what other people say I feel it quite potent. For chronic smokers I think there are others more potent strains. The effects are nicely balanced, somewhat body, somewhat heady, overall is medicinal, perfect for hanging out on the day, and perfect for stay at home at night. Anyway I harvested one pheno (the sweet chunky smaller one) at 54 days, and the other (the cofee smell, bigger and more potent) pheno at 70 days.

Medical use as an aid to sleep when smoked in large quantities.
This strain develops very thick main/primary stems and secondary branching early on, which tells me it is capable of putting on some real weight. These plants were vegged for about 28 days, flowered at approximately 12 inches and they took 45 to 49 days to finish. Average plant height at finish was 28". Strain description says finish time is approximately 56 days and I see no need for them to go past 56 with most of the garden finishing at 46 to 49 days.
As you can see this strain is nearly all bud from base to tip on nearly every seed grown out.
Every plant was extrememly uniform with the buds being extremely thick and weighty, some of the tightest buds I have had the opportunity to grow... ROCK HARD NUGS! One girl in the garden had a very strong Pink Grapefruit smell to her which is a telltale trait of this Signature Series Strain. She was my favorite specimen in the garden. Excellent all around strain!
IMO, The Sweet Tooth #3 is not a very good strain to use for hashmaking, reason being this strain has a very high calyx to leaf ratio leaving you with very little waste and or sugar leaf to use for this.
I give Sweet Tooth #3:
6 for Potency
9 for Uniformity
8 for Stability
9 for Production
10 for Ease of Growing.
Overall this is an amazing strain that is perfectly suited for the Indoor Gardener.

Germed 10 and got 4 females 4 males. This report is on the Sativa pheno only. I was not impressed with any of the Indicas. I rooted clones easily in 10 days. The Sativa pheno is by far the best. Easily identified by the lime green color. Amazing growth and short internodes. Leaves were very large making SCROG training a little tricky.
Veg- 30 days including SCROG training
- DWC EC range 0.8-1.2 PH 5.3 GH nutes Spray-n-Gro
- Decrease budsites in SCROG. 2" per is ideal.
Flower - 55 days. I harvest early at D50.
- Ebb&Flow EC range PH 5.6 1.4 - 2.5
- STRETCH is a 8 and finishes at 14 days
- Foliar feed w/ fish emulsion 2wks
- KaBloom added at week3
- 12 day flush
This is a very easy strain to grow. Resin coats the shade leaves also. Very frosty. The Sativa pheno yields way more due to short internodes and massive branching. Easy to clone and no hermie traits or male flowers after 3 grows. My pheno yields pretty good for my conditions. No CO2 85watts per sq/ft. Very easy to manicure.
Taste - It really does taste like it smells. Rotten fruit w/ a hint of berry. Great in a Blueberry blunt.
High - I know people knock this strain, but I don't think they are smoking the Sativa pheno. It isn't an overpowering high. Just a great all day anytime smoke. It keeps you going with a mellow feeling.I harvest early for the "headier buzz". Not a Mercedes more like a Camry.

100% germination from seed, ~50% female. The growth on these plants was phenomenal during veg, they grew with a tallish narrow struture from seed. Easy cloners and forgiving of mistakes.
The first thing that was noticed during flower was the wonderful sweet smell, not like typical cannabis at all. They grew big single colas if grown from seed, and there was lot more branching when grown from a cutting. Very crystally buds, they look white during mid flower. The buds were super dense (keep humidity levels low) with a good calyx to leaf ratio. Really, really quick to trim and there were no bullshit buds down low. Yields were very good.
The high is very uplifting and happy in an energetic way. It is a strong spacy stone, and there is absolutely no paranoia. Just the opposite I find being blitzed on SwT#3 leaves me quite confident while in public.
The sweet tooth high is quite unique, the first toke or two are very uplifting and good for during the day, another toke or two and you're starting to be very stoned but still functional and not much heaviness to it. If you carry on and have a couple more tokes it suddenly turns into an Indica and it's pretty much lights out soon afterwards. We found one particular pheno that was slightly more Sativa leaning than the others with a tangy berry smell, its smoke was particularly good.
Overall this strain was a pleasure to grow, and I'd definitely call it beginner friendly.

Sweet Tooth #3 is a good grower and is fairly stable with some variation though. Good vigor with pretty good yields. Not very branchy and would probably do best in a SOG setup with no topping of plants. Flowers in about 60 days
Very crystalized and very chunky, dense nuggets. Wonderful sweet grapefruit taste. Not an extreme taste, but definitely has some really nice flavor. Buds smell great when broken apart. Mostly indica high, but nicely balanced. Pretty good potency, about a 7 out of 10. I like it because it has a pleasant Indica stone but it is not devasting or day ending (I like the devasting Indicas the most, but only to smoke at night)
It is definitely an indica you can smoke during the day and not be completely devastated. Nice relaxing stone. Semi-euphoric (not quite as euphoric as Bubblegum or Bogglegum) and no edge to the high.
These were vegged for about 5 weeks under fluros and then flowered under a 1000W HPS. These were taken at around 50 days of flowering and are close to harvest. They went a total of about 60 days.
There was a little variance, but 3 of the phenos were very similar and leaned to the Grapefruit side of the cross. The other pheno seemed to have more Afghani in it

Vegged under fluros for around 5 weeks, but I should have vegged them 6-7 weeks.
They are grown in Pro Mix soil with about 30% more perlite added and a little lime to bring up the PH slightly. They were fertilized with Fox Farm organics. Grow Big, Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom.
The schedule used was fertilize with Fox Farm, then two plain waterings after that before fertilizing again. From now on Indonesian Bat Guano 0-13-0 will be used for the last two weeks of flowering before a 14 day plain water flush to cut out nitrogen completely.

Started 7 of the 15 beans in the pack. 100% germination, and I got 3 females and 4 males. They grew quickly in veg, very vigerous and lush. All looked almost identical as well, very stable. Out of the three females I got two pheno, one of them yeilded a little less, and leaned more twords the blueberry side, the other two were more fruity grapefruit smelling and yeilded better. All 3 of them hermied late in flower for some reason, I think this is pretty unusual for sweetooth. So all potential moms were thrown out, and I will start the other 8 beans to look for a non hermie mom. They were very easy to grow, took nutes like a champ, flowered quick, and packed on the resin very early. The dried/finished product looks very nice, great bag appeal, but the potency does not hold up to the looks I think. This is some good all around bud to smoke, but doesnt get you too stoned. Overall I liked the sweetooth, it was just what I expected it to be, but I dont think she will be a high priority in my garden.
