Breeder's Description - 'White Russian'
|
These seeds produce plants that are fantastic in both appearance, and effect. Our most typically indica strain, White Russian is a stable cross of AK-47 and White Widow (a prize winning indica clone). Medium height, consistent plants and dense, very resinous flower tops (crystals appear after about 5 weeks of flowering). With such a strong indica background, the plants smell quite strong during both their growth and flowering period. In an independent seed comparison in which over 150 different seedstrains were grown out in a greenhouse, the White Russian came out as the strongest plant (22% T ...continued

Well after fully growing and smoking Serious Seeds White Russian I feel I am somewhat confident to fill this report.
I received 5 WR seeds only to get 1 very nice female. During the first month the plants grew slowly only to pick up after they got established. The plant was not very picky when it came to nutes, it grew very well in both hydro and soil. The node spacing was very close and the leafs turned out very indica dom.
The plant responded very well to topping but I feel because of the node spacing it would be better to grow it Tree style.
During flowering the plant put on a lot of weight in the final weeks, it did not have a very strong smell. The crystal production could have been better but it did not affect the smoke.
One thing I did not like about the Russian was the flowering time, also the plant did not seem very resistant against mites. Other then that it was a dream to grow.
Now on with the smoke....
At first glace the bud does not seem to be anything spectacular, but when looked at it has very good crystal coverage and a very nice smell. The smell is somewhat citrusy and very skunky.
The bud breaks up really well and stays very sticky. One thing I have found is if you are rolling a joint you must roll it loose or else the joint will not pull properly.
Once you take the first hit you can feel a cloud of highness go over your body. After that you stay pretty mellow and buzzed for a very long time. Honestly this weed has no burn out at all. The high is exactly like described in the breeder report.

Plants were grown as tree's. We had 2 1000 w lights hung vertically in the middle of circle's of 6 plants. We rotated the plants every couple days. For the hydro we used GH 3 part neut with sm-90 and greenfuse as additive. Honestly I don’t really know if greenfuse did anything to the buds, but they did seem quite big.
For the organic soil we used earth juice 3 part with some epsom added.
Plants never really showed any signs of neut def. and were quite easy to take care of.

I started with 15 seeds of which 13 germinated, 9 ended up female. (I only got 6 females out of my feminized seeds last time).
I veged the 13 plants for about 4 weeks before I switched to 12-12 and got rid of the males. At this stage I started giving the plants a different mix of chemicals can't remember exactly what but I know I used Nitrozyme (foliar feed), Ionic Bloom and Ionic Boost.
At about 7 weeks I got a case of budrot which I know now was caused by my dad foliar feeding the buds!!! I got rid of most of it by sacrificing a few main buds sadly but got over it eventually. This caused the grow to take a bit longer than it should have. About two weeks over the pack's recomended time. I harvested it all at different times when I thought it was ready and ended up with a lot of nice bud.

Was grown in the corner of a bedroom screened off by a mylar covered card board box, with a 400W HPS and a 250W MH light hanging from the ceiling in the center of the "box".
The grow medium was Bio Bizz all mix soil (which I think is great by the way). Plants were watered the old fashioned way when needed. I think these plants are quite nute tolerant as I gave them a high nitrogen feed through veg at almost every watering and also foliar fed them on a regular basis with Nitrozyme and water mixed a silicone based liquid to make the spray mist (cant remember the name of it).

I germinated 11 seeds and they popped all but i only had 3 females, but the best yield ever!
80-90gr per plant for only 60cm plant! Also the appearance was unique, really precious, had like an special aura around them, full of cristals, all buds were as big as the central bud. All big dense and heavy buds full of cristals.
The veg took really long, didn't never look like finished, six weeks at 18/6h and only for 60cm plants at last.
At the veg all plants looked still the same, very indica, but at the middle-end of the flowering one of the plants started to produce a little bit less dense more sativa buds, more like an Ak-47 needed to be cut 8 days after the first two but produced a few more grams than the others. Be careful with overfertilizing with that one, need less than the other ones.
Tip: Better cut some leaves from the inside part of the plants to let the light pass better through to the buds to increase yield, has to many unneccesary big leaves.
Didn´t do it, but this variety seemed to work good for SCROG or SOG systems.
All 3 needed relative long time for flowering to be so indica.
Veredict:
Wasn´t the best-tasting variety I`ve tried, but was also good. I was wondering that it didn`t taste citric like in the flowering time. Taste was a mix between hash and White Widow, your mouth will be full of flavours, nice mix between Ak-47 and White Widow, the buds were fat, dense and full of cristals like W.W., but as long as Ak-47 buds.
Good high for a long time, not couchlocking.
Really great plant, extremely recommended if you want a yieldking & nicelooking bitch! I only can recommend this variety to all !!!

From 2 seeds 2 females, germinated in 24 hours and straight into Rockwool with a little diluted nutrient being regularly fed. When the roots were happy they were switched to a hydroponic tank. The response was amazing, one plant shot ahead and needed topping because of the height. Both females responded very well to hydroponics, a very time comsuming but worthwhile enterprise, not something to be recommended to beginners. The topped plant delivered over 500 grams dried smoke, dried over 8 weeks and lasted well into 2005 in the freezer without any drop in quality. An easy plant to grow, even though they were grown in a hydro solution I placed the cropped branch in soil, took it out of the grow room for two weeks and it picked up beautifully. After three weeks it was back in the grow room and produced a beautiful piece of bud on a stick. Tasted slighty heavier than the plants in the hydro tub. A truely fantastic and easy to grow smoke, great clear high effects - keeps you active and talkative, a good cerebral high for an indica. Have grown in soil as well and the results are somwhat smaller and slower than the hydroponics. The plant was extremely bushy with a very solid trunk, they came in at 1.40 metres high. They like lots of ventilation. A serious plant, great yields, easy maitenance (soil) incredible smoke, very lucid. The switch from veg to flower is surprising, switch to flower and they explode in size, after two weeks to buds start to appear and there's no looking back. Great plant!

bright, clean large walk-in cupboard, 8 feet high, a hydro tank 1 metre by 0.5 metre, a small tank that takes three big plants max. The 400watt light was on a chain and needed to be altered to suit the plants, great ventilation. Nutrient solution was mesearued each day, it really makes a noticeable difference when keeping the plants in the correct ph boundries for veg and flower, nutrient tank topped up once a week and changed once a week, The White Russian is a very thirsty plant grown hydro, with a constant flow of water running over the roots, this didn't seem to be enough for the ladies as their roots found the way to the reserve tank and they drank as much as they wished and turned out good. The nutrient amount is very important and needs to measured with a metre, that puts the mind at rest.
Very easy to grow alround, a plant well worth recommending, easy to grow, great yeild and wonderful high

I bought 15 seeds from Serious Seeds and started growing.
Their growth phase was stable; medium growing rate nice leafs no stress...(perfect grow phase).
One thing that stuned me was when I changed to flowering phase (12/12) 400w HPS. These green things gave a BOOM on growing, they went from 25 cm to 125 cm and my female media was about 70% (quite good).
I was very pleased in the harvest since I got 10 liters of non dried weed from 2 plants... Not hard nuggets but very resinous.
When I first smoke it (with 4 friends) ohhhh my god this was the strongest green shit I have ever smoked... Actualy all of my friends did strange things... One started crying and laughing at the same time and said he couldn't believe that it was possible to get that high... Just enjoy and share.
