Arguably the top sativa strain available today. With 90% sativa genetices, Kali Mist grows into tall, running, classically sativa plants with very few leaves. This strain produces dense clusters of full fluffy buds, producing much higher yields than you would expect. The plant structure and few leaves allow the light to pass all the way to lower branches, allowing bottom buds to develop fully. When planted outside early in the year this plant can grow very tall. A very nice strain very cerebral high not dificult to work with, great for cloning. Not a very compact plant but yield is good. Allways had 100% females and I've grown this strain for two years and I never had any problems with mold or fungus, which means the plants have a very good genetic make-up. In hydro she can handle until 2.0 EC but I noticed 1.8 is the exact amount to get best results. The long flowering period can be shorter if you work with clones. Under stress the plant can have a shorter flowering period. 24/7 cycles during vegetative growth and I harvested after 67 days of flowering. The stigmas are long and very white.

I personally love this strain. It's generally hardy, it handles high heat levels and draught very well, definitely mold resistant, yielded well even during a thrip infestation, etc. Cloning it fast and easy. It seems to respond well to various supercropping methods.
Not much variation in the seeds I grew out, but I did notice that some matured faster then others... No difference in yield between 'em, but because I harvest all at once, I can discern a difference in the high between early and late maturing plants. I'd recommend harvesting all plants on the earlier rather then late side for this strain as there's nothing really gained from letting 'em go longer. The uniqueness of the high is in the up rush and sense of clarity, letting them flower too long will take away from that, without adding anything but heavy eyelids.
Odor in the flower room is low in comparison to many strains and shouldn't be a problem.
Buds are fluffy, so in late flowering it looks you're gonna get a huge yield. But alas, the dried buds are very light. Regardless, I wasn't disappointed with yield. Expect a good stretch on main branches after flipping to 12/12, but don't worry as the buds fill-in quite well.
I don't have too much of a problem with branches breaking under bud-weight, as the buds fill in equally along the branch (ie, it's not a "head on a stick" type). But because of this, you may want to do some kind of tie-down method in order to gain more equal light distribution to the lower section of the long colas.
Smell of the cured buds is quite unique, again on the spicy side of the spectrum, not too pungent or strong.
Taste is delicious, with a slight spicy-hot bite on your tongue (but not a throat-burner). I often catch myself smoking a joint just for the pleasure of the flavor.
The high is almost not like weed at all: very up and clear, with a visual clarity (brighter whites and greater depth perception) kinda like a slight mushroom buzz without the goofiness. Music and sound is exceptional. I recommend all musicians and producers use Kali Mist as a tool in the studio, particularly in final mixing. This isn't stupid weed, you have normal physical function; your thought process is fast and not blurred. It really shines on active sunny days at the beach or in the park. But it's almost unnoticeable at night on the couch (except for the fact that you can't fall asleep). No harsh/headachy comedown.
Commercially this strain is a flop. Buds are fluffy and unimpressive (no "tight nugs"), not a one hit head-slammer, doesn't smell like a dead skunk, and won't nail you to the couch.

Kali Mist is a must have when I visit Amsterdam so I thought I may as well grow my own.
I germed 15 seeds and 14 came good.
I only ended up with 4 females and 7 males with the remainder not sure what sex to be. ( my fault though as I had very unstable lighting in veg)
I had problems with mites and constantly fought them for 4 weeks taking the total veg time to 7 weeks. I'm quite sure that this effected yeild.
Flowering was a bit slow, probably due to my initial bad start but took of past the 4th week. They went, forever 74 days, but it was rewarding to watch them fill out. All the buds did well and I grew them with no topping and only slight training.
Kali is very difficult to prune and harvest, it took three of us 3 hours to chop 4 plants. We were able to roll 3 joints with the hashy resin on our fingers, very very sticky.
Very cool smoke as rated by nearly every smoker I know and well appreciated by all. If you smoke average weed it'll knock your socks off!
Still my favorite sativa and highly recomended.

Of course you can buy it at the Dam, but its soo much better when you grow it!
Great to grow if you have height. Handles very cold weather nicely. Loves to suck up the nutes, was hard to burn the tips. I burn the first 1/4 of the tip, and back off of my solution by 20 percent for a perfect feed.
The buds are fluffy but very fat. The taste is perect with a 30 day cure. As said, its somewhat like Black Domina, but with its own accent..It is very very spicey-almost harsh in the first 5-10 days of drying. Looks are spectacular. Lots and lots of trichs, with great orange-rust hairs.
The high is perfect for a seasoned vetern. No problems building a tolerence with this strain!! It makes your head feel very heavy, with a great laughing high.
These are from 2002-in 2000 they were crossed for bigger yields.

easy to grow, will stretch a lot in flowering. Beatiful white sticky oily buds that fill out at the end of flowering. Bud are hard and not too leafy.may change colors at end of cycle.
Smoke is like meth, you will not sit on this smoke. great anytime but it may impeed math skills.You wiil be so happy high you wont care.

Well lets just say that this strain will take you for a wild ride that is only for the experienced smoker. Being on the KALI mist is similar to mushrooms....it is some crazy stuff......14 weeks flower formy girls but it could be taken down at 12.
